Sri Lanka-born, Toronto-based hip-hop artist Shan Vincent de Paul‘s (SVDP) recently released song “Humble”, the fourth single off his forthcoming album “Siren”, is the Canadian’s insanely listenable tribute to the funky vibes of West Coast hip-hop. “I grew up studying artists like the Hieroglyphics crew, Kurupt, DJ Quik, Ras Kass, E-40, Pharcyde and that entire movement out west. Even though I was introduced to the culture through east-coast lyricism, it wasn’t until I delved into the west I learned how fearless and free you could be with style and cadence. You can’t deny the funk!” he said to OkayPlayer.
