new music: tricky shares new track “lonnie listen”, featuring francesca belmont and mykki blanco

The legendary Bristolian Tricky is back with some new material, in the form of new track “Lonnie Listen”, and this time he’s called upon the vocals of singer Francesca Belmont and rapper Mykki Blanco.

One of my favorite albums of all time is – and will always be – Tricky’s “Maxinquaye”; and that is largely to do with the album’s female vocalist (Martina Topley-Bird). I love how Francesca Belmont’s vocals work in the same way on this track as Topley-Bird’s had done 19 years earlier, complimenting Tricky’s trip hop sound; but also balanced by Mykki Blanco’s raw delivery. The track features on Tricky’s latest album “Adrian Thaws” –> purchase HERE.
