Its been over a day since my grandmother went to be with Jesus, and slowly but surely, I am definately beginning to miss her... But I honestly cant see myself missing her for long. Why? Because, of my family... My grandmother had 5 kids: Patsy, Shirley, Frank, Delores, and Michael... 7 grandkids: Patrick, Rubye, Jarrett (me), Kevin, Michael, Jennifer, and Mia.. and 5 great grandkids: Whitney, Kurtis, Patrice, Kristin, and McKinsie, and through all of us, Rubye Harris has played a VITAL role in our lives... I learned my kindness, my love, and how to be a man of my word because of my grandmother, and she always had a reason to smile everytime any of us was around... The way she would spoil us was unique, and always greatful... she never got mad at us, but she wouldnt take anything but respect... She was simply the greatest human being to grace God's earth, and I was honored and blessed to call her Grandmother. Always quick with the jokes, and always had a reason to laugh at one, it was never dull around the holidays.... she woke up early to cook us breakfast, and took us to lunch and dinner... She was a fun person, a beautiful person, and now shes with the Lord in Rest, and I am happy that she finally rests, and no longer has to suffer the pangs of this life... She went through racism, wars, at least 15 presidents, breast cancer, and through it all, she put up a fight for nearly a year battling Alshimers, which ultimately claimed her, and know, she battled that bitch to the bitter end. :) So, knowing that my grandmother fought tooth and nail with whatever the world can throw at her, goes to show, that my life is going to be full... I honestly hope to live as long or longer that my grandmother, so I can see the graces of God's goodness unfold as my name thrives... as HER name thrives... Thank you Rubye Harris, for allowing God to use you in my life... you will be missed, you are always loved, and I nor anyone that has called you mother, will never forget you. :) Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. :)
Your Grandson,
Jarrett Hayes
