The Uni Campestre (People's Union Field) is one of the groups formed by
the House of Culture Zabumbambus, a project designed by the duo of Rock
experimental
Lacertae, which aims to develop cultural activities in
such areas as
music, theater and visual arts for young people age
between 15 and
20 years, residents in a village located 14 km from the
town of
Lizard (SE), called Field of Creole. This initiative, and very
beautiful,
meets a socio-cultural role of extreme importance, because
offers
young people a chance to interact with the world that exists
beyond
the boundaries of geographical and social settlement.
Fruit of this reality, the Uni Campestre demand mix ecology, visual
arts and folklore reading to your music, aiming to preserve the local
traditions,
but at the same time, promote an exchange with a foreign
culture.
And this is what happens in "Forest", from his debut disc,
which
takes the Rock as a starting point to enter all kinds of
experimentalism,
mixing songs and folklore themes, electronic music,
rhythms
Northeastern, religious rites and various other influences.
The music of the Uni Campestre is formed by several more layers and
noise, using vocal counterpoints, different timbres and themes of
guitar,
percussion and collage elements to produce climates that in
most
cases, sound gloom and enfumaçados. Bass, drums, cowbell zabumba
and
take care of work electro-organic, ie to produce, manually, the
electronic
environment that supports all the rest. In this way,
"Forest"
boiling a mixture stylistic single, strong and original.
While the disc does not expect a recording consistent with the
excellent work that the United Campestre place, its production does not
cease
to be quite interesting, using samples of local singers, popular
reciting
verses, sounds of fife and other vignettes that bring the
environment
Field of Creole culture into the modern music of the group,
promoting
unity between the local folklore and culture overall. It is
undoubtedly
a musical work that deserves all the attention, the product
of a
social work worthy of all the applause.
