... the other Black experience

Greetings from my lovely and comfortable couch in Norristown (as I'm multi-tasking and watching WWE RAW at the same time) -

With the start of a new year, I have seen many changes already. I've had friends come and go, I've had people show their true colors - and it seems to me that the only constant throughout all of it has been the music. Isn't that usually the case?

So, with that said... I have to make you all aware of an awesome event that I have coming up next weekend. I'll be playing my absolute final show (but not for you there, didn't I?) as Meredith Bell the solo artist. I'll be playing at The Legendary Dobbs on South Street in Philadelphia. The show is Saturday, February 9th at 8pm SHARP. This is a huge show - and I'm so excited to play with such talented bands as Divisions, Held, Black Summer and Ammunition.

But why is this the final show as Meredith Bell, you ask? Well - let me tell you... My bandmates and I had a very long, drawn out discussion - and we came to the conclusion that it will make things easier to be known as an actual name, rather than a solo artist. In recent shows, we've been referred to or booked as "The Meredith Bell Band". And let's keep it real, shit is corny as all get out. I'm not a singer-songwriter, I'm a hard rock artist. I definitely want the music and the image to be reflected as such. Plus, it's not fair when all of the rest of the band members are contributing to the project, and only one person gets all the credit. Sooooooo, yeah. The name's gotta go.

At any rate - if you're in the Philadelphia area, I'd absolutely love to see you out! The Legendary Dobbs, I go on at 8 pm sharp, doors are at 7, $10 cover, Sat. Feb. 9th. AND WE'LL BE ANNOUNCING THE NEW NAME! No, I'm not gonna tell you what it is. Ya gotta come. :)
