Remembering observations

I was remembering something that happened the night I went out with the cabbie last week. I really liked the way I looked and I was excited to be going out with a guy I really thought was attractive. I told him to meet me @ squiggys pizza, but he was having a hard time finding it so I told him to stand in front of a bar across the street. Now I went to stand in front of Squiggys. But I realized for whatever reason the sign had been taken down so now the place is virtually unidentifyable. It's a teeny tiny hole in the wall place. As I was standing there I noticed the guy working the counter was an extremely attractive I think Latin man with a low cut and tatoos. He saw me standing out there. I was communicating with cabbie trying to pinpoint his location, he said he was across the street and I was trying to see him through all the people walking back and forth. Then the pizza guy comes out to smoke a cigarette, and WOW was he really good looking. Totally my flavor. But just as he walked out the cabbie crosses the street. When I see the cabbie I want to jump into his arms cause I am so excited to see him again. I see out of the corner of my eye the pizza guy watching this go down. We walk toward the pizza place, and before we can pass the pizza guy throws down his cigarette that is barely smoked and walks back into the resturant.

When we get to the theater, the guy at the ticket counter is a very handsome brother with dreads. I see his expression that he is trying to pretend he isn't having. That 'what the hell is she doing with him' sort of expression. This brotha is very good looking as well and completely the kind of guy I would go for as well. Dont get me wrong, cabbie is very handsome and clearly middle eastern. I can't imagine what that makes me to another guy looking in. Is it the same thing as a guy who only dates asians, or if he shows up at a movie with an asian chick, the girl looking in from the outside is like 'oh, he has yellow fever'. regardless if the asian chick is cool as hell or not.

The thing that is weird for me is both of these men have seen me with the cabbie. Now I could be all casual on my days that I am walking about town as this area is on the way to my house and I pass thru there all of the time. I could casually get a slice, or go to the movies alone. But I have noticed, because I have had many guy friends in the past. If they see a woman with a type of guy they think that's the only type we go for. There is something off putting when they see us with someone else and then we show interest in them, then were are a player in their eyes. For all they know the cabbie was a loser, and I am still in the market.

It feels like the guy who goes on a date and is attracted to the waitress, then goes back later to hit on the waitress. They guy can say 'oh it didn't work out with that chick I was on a date with.' but he could be lying. Maybe he is, and is just greedy. I don't see why the same wouldn't go for me. Or are guys less scrutininzing? hmmmmm
