AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

Back in the day, well that is 1981 I was a big prince fan I had all of his albums posters you name it, I had it all. At that time Princes badist album was ''Controversy''

On the cover was a shot of him in a purple trinch coat with a black and white checkered button that said RUDE BOY! I became fascinated by this little button and what I thought it meant, not until years later i discoverd what it really meant and it's connection to the SKA music movement. In 85 i took on the title of rude boy as a alias for my art and as time past I stoped wearing my little black and white button and got really serious about my life and where it was going and then it all blew up in face! So after wasting nine years of my life i decided to wear that little button again, and now i feel better about everything in my life again.

Now don't get me wrong, it didn't take me putting on a button to feel better about my life.it's just that this button represents a time in my life then it was really really good. and now it a reminder for me to not let the good thinges past you by and don't sale you self out for a false reality.
