solange & moses sumney improvise a weed anthem on a nina simone track

During her 2015 FYF Fest performance, Solange enlisted the help of Moses Sumney, Dev Hynes, and KING for a cover of Nina Simone’s classic “To Be Young, Gifted and Black”.

Now, the A Seat at the Table singer joins back up with Sumney for another Simone anthem–this time taking to Instagram for a free-styled duet questioning his marijuana abstinence as Simone’s “Where Can I Go Without You” plays in the back ground.

The hilarious clip shows the duo going back and forth trying to hold in their (weed-induced?) laughter, Sumney crooning his denials while Solange insists she has proof of his lies. A caption reads: “tfw the homie been saying he don’t light up, but u find a lil clip on his bedside table ❔@moses ❔”:

Solange’s digital content platform Saint Heron will be curating a stage at AFROPUNK Brooklyn 2017 featuring KING, Sampha, Thundercat and Sinkane, as well as other to-be-announced special guests. The festival takes place in Brooklyn’s Commodore Berry Park on August 26 and 27. Get tickets here.
