“Giants” is a series about three Black millennials approaching the age of 30 and the realizations that despite their age, they haven’t quite mastered “adulting.” In a press release, director James Bland said, “Giants explores social issues that are either ignored or stigmatized by the black community and regardless of race, these characters’ experiences are relatable to almost anyone because they learn the hard way that when life kicks your ass, you either lie down or fight back.” Teaming up with Issa Rae and Jussie Smollett, the series aims to show the triumphs and struggles of millennials, while offering community for an audience who has more in common with the characters than just being broke and approaching the big 3-0. The series debuted their first episode yesterday and is available for streaming below, so press play!
