sugar & spikes tattoo of the week: jewel blunt

February 4, 2013

By day Jewel works hard at her office job and then by night she gets to let her locks down by go go dancing and revealing her wonderfully inked body. Most of her ink reflects her passion for writing poetry. The words on her skin serves as daily reminders of personal inspiration. Perhaps the tattoo with the most powerful statement is also the smallest one. She has the word SPEAK written backwards on the right side of her face by her hairline. When she looks in the mirror everyday and sees “SPEAK” staring back at her, she remembers to always speak up for herself and stand up for what she believes in. Her text tattoos shows that you don’t always need to quote someone else’s words…some of the best lines come straight from the heart.

How many tattoos do you have?: Well I lost count when separated [since some were added to], but if you count certain ones as whole pieces it would be 13!

Which one is your favorite? Why?: Definitely the one on my face which is the smallest and most hidden – it is the word SPEAK written backwards. Located on the right side by my hairline, and its my favorite for many reasons. One being that it is my constant reminder when looking in the mirror to always speak up for yourself and what you stand for. Also represents the poetry that I write, which is pieces of my mind spilled out to anyone who will listen. And lastly because our eyes say much more than our lips do, which is why it is located close to my eyes.

Why should we feature you and your ink?: Because at the end of the day each one of us walking the earth has a purpose to fulfill and I am starting with spreading LOVE, which is what this one on my back represents.

Do you have a particular tattoo artist you go to?: Honestly, I don’t think I can ever choose just one to stick with. Mainly because I have a few that I find to be very talented in different areas. So its inspiring to be a canvas for different artists.

Do you regret any tattoos you have?: No :} Every detail of why I want to get it and how it will be done is always carefully thought out first.

Websites/Links: I need to get up with the times, I currently only have Facebook. Working on others! www.facebook.com/i.am.m3e
