ta-nehisi coates’ ‘black panther’ comic series is cancelled by marvel

Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates’ edition of ‘Black Panther & The Crew’ has been cancelled after just 2 installments, due to poor sales. Back in 2015, Marvel handed the story of Wakanda to Coates, nerd and fanboy, much to the excitement of the internet, but apparently that early excitement never translated to sales. ‘Black Panther & The Crew’ was on of few Marvel series’ that followed several black characters, including Black Panther, Misty Knight, Luke Cage, and Storm, at once. The good news, Coates will bring his Black Panther story arc to a close in the final four issues Marvel plans to release before closing shop.
