Tattoo of the Week: I'm Looking at You, Creep

Have you ever felt like someone was watching you, but there was no one in the room? We can't imagine how much more creepy it would be to have a detailed eye tatted on your arm that would pretty much glare at you whenever you moved your arm up and down. This week we are featuring Aviun Knives, a 20-year-old, artist and college student, who has an all seeing eye on his left forearm as one of his five tattoos. He says it has no literal meaning but got it a couple years after seeing it on the famous tattoo artist, Kat Von D's, skin. Along with a couple of heartagram tatts on his leg, this week we feature Aviun for being balzy enough for having an eye look at him all day. And don't forget to submit images of your tattoo(s) (at least 3 pics) + your answers to the questionnaire below to afropunkcommunity@gmail.com, to be featured as our tattoo of the week.

Tattoo of the week: I'm Looking at You, Creep
Feature Aviun Knives

Who are you?

A philosopher. Rather misanthropic but I am Aviun Knives.

Age
20

Location
Missouri

Occupation
Struggling artist and college student.

Number of tattoos
5 as of yet

Favorite one
My all seeing eye

When and where did you get it?
I got it in August 2010 at this tattoo parlor called Enigma. Its located on my left forearm.

What does it mean to you?
Well it was inspired by a piece that the famous tattoo artist Kat Von D has herself. She has an eyeball on the back of her hand that is absolutely wicked. I first saw it when I was like 16 and now four years later I have my own amazing eye tatt. But as far as a literal meaning it has none. I have it for sheer aesthetic value. Every time I look at it, I truly feel like something is gazing back. Its gives me chills but I'm weird like that and find it intriguing.

How old were you when you got your first tattoo?
I was 18. Got a Heartgaram on my ankle.

What is the biggest misconception people have about you because of your tattoos?
I have a few Heartagram tattoos (the symbol of the Finnish band HIM) and people often think they have something to do with the devil and I'm a satanist. They ask me crazy questions. Its such comedy to me because although you see a symbol within a circle, that does not imply satanism and secondly I don't believe in religion.

Why should we feature your tattoo?
Come on. It looks like a real eye is embedded in my skin. Isn't that hardcore enough?

Do you have a particular tattoo artist you go to?
I do. His name is Chris. He looks EXACTLY like Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of The Caribbean, I swear on my life.

Do you regret any tattoos you have?
Nope. They all symbolize a moment I was truly happy in.
