The 54 Album Release Party in Atlanta this Week! Mention Afro-punk, win free album!

The 54 had the best self made promo video for the 2010 Afro-punk festival, hands down. For that reason, and some others (like 1) their song, Dominate, let us know that we're just a mutha fucka, 2) they're all in the underground Atlanta scene, and 3) their guitarist, Walter, is really good), we are psyched about their first released album, Building a Giant Machine, which will be showcased at their release party in Atlanta, this Thursday. We got a chance to see the four piece when they came to New York to perform at our annual festival and loved their high energy music and even higher leg kicks. We spoke to bassist, Mercury Jackson, this week about the new album, and he let us know that the 12-song album was completely self produced. "The name, "Building a Giant Machine," came because we wanted to make a change in rock and roll radio. The sound has been post grunge for the last ten years and music goes in cycles. It's time for a change," Mercury said.

Check out their album release party if you're in Atlanta, Thursday, Nov. 4, at 1123 Euclid Ave- a cozy venue in Lil 5 Points. Tickets are five bucks, and there is a killer open bar from 7-8. AND --- the first two people to mention AFRO-PUNK at their merch table on Thursday night will win a copy of The 54's new album! Tell them we sent you!

Sounds Great!
I suddenly came good memories of the '90s and bands like Helmet, Soundgarden and others ...
And this record is perfect (exactly what I want for my band)!
Long live The 54!
You're Rock!
