Last set of the tour! That's a wrap! (or IS it?!?) ahaha well stay tuned, but the story today is about our very last SET! Ok it all started on the Kevin Says Stage in Minnesota when all of a sudden, FINALLY, a cool breeze started to set in. JK no it did not. I don't think a cool breeze set in the entire time we were on tour! It was HOT. This was our very last show and then we were heading home! A bunch of bands that we love and have the highest respect for joined us on stage for our finale, a cover of Bad Brains "Attitude"! One of the best memories for sure!
Henry Upton from Lionize plugged in and played bass and Nate Bergman from Lionize owned the vocals with friends from Street Dogs, Larry & His Flask, Sharks, Unwritten Law, The Exposed, New Year's Day, and even some Lucero, I Set My Friends on Fire, Bad Rabbits, The Dance Party and Pepper peeple was hanging out! And Juliet Simms from Automatic Loveletter was kissing our shirts and tossing them into the crowd yeah, that was awesome :) Really she should have been singing though she has an amazing voice! Check her out! Take a minute we'll wait.
Sharks lead singer James Mattock took to the crowd and surfed a bit like I wanted to but someone had to drum ahaha and all these awesome musicians came up and just had a good time! I hope. Pretty sure!
Thank you to Kevin Lyman and the Vans Warped Tour for giving us this opportunity! again dang!! (last year ruled too!) Thank you to our Afro-Punk family! Hopefully you all will be going to Afro-Punk Festival there is a sick line-up! Thank you to SoundBite Studios the best place to practice in LA we miss you! Get there and get on it! Thank-you to all our fans, friends, family, and all the other bands on tour! I can't tell you how many amazing people we met on tour but it took forever to put all the links up top to the ones just on our stage ahaha!
VANS wrote a little thingy about our last day too... and they included some cool footage from our last set AND jam sesh in a Las Vegas par... with Hellogoodbye, thanks to them too! good times!
Here's what they wrote about it! sweet!
Thanks Allie!! We miss you too!
Aaaaannnd check out this cool shout out by RollingStone haters! ahaha jk
"One of the day's coolest, most unexpected sets was delivered by the Bots–- two brothers from Glendale, California, ages 13 and 18 – playing tough and melodic punk 'n' blues in the Black Keys mode. "I'm pretty sure their mom is out on tour and watching over them," Against Me!'s Tom Gabel told Rolling Stone backstage, calling the young duo one of his favorite acts on this year's 44-date tour." -RollingStone /Steve Appleford
THANK YOU RollingStone!! THANK YOU Tome Gabel! wo. so honored!
ok. The entire day was insane and we joined Street Dogs shortly after our set too! [ our last blog about that scene ]
Later that night was the nightly band BBQ and Winds of Plague let us take their mini bike out for a spin aw yea!
Thanks Jon!!
Trust me, this past month has been incredible and we are grateful! And that final night was epic! Until later when all the bands pulled out and our RV would not start in the middle of a crazy storm with pink lighting and we spent the next 2 days in Minnesota! We love Minnesota but harsh! We'll tell you about that next time ahaha!
One Love,
M&A
