AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

The Bots Rep Afro-punk On The Vans Warped Tour : Stranded!!

So, on our last day on the tour we had the most incredible time. If you missed out on that killer bit of info here it is! [ OUR LAST DAY! ] Then we went to the band BBQ that night, hung out and said a lot of goodbyes to the great friends we made. It was extra cool to because there was a crazy intense storm that rolled in and for a while, like a couple hours I think it was just a dark sky with bright pink lightning, like fireworks! And then it got rough. The wind was blowing and whipping around like whatever you dumb musicians and the rain came in all the sudden out of nowhere all sideways! And things were blowing everywhere and buses started to roll out! And fast! So we all ran back to the RV and were celebrating, 'alright! we did it! awesome! lets go home!' And then the RV did not start. Not even a little cough. It was dead!!!

So we spent that night right there. And with the RV rocking back and forth from the storm in that parking lot and when we woke up the next morning it looked like a tornado had busted through! There was bits of everything everywhere! Thankfully there was a trailer still there that had a security dude in it and so our mom and aunt hitched a ride to McD's for some breakfast in a golf cart and then we waited for the tow.

The tow truck was huge because the RV was huge!  But it was cool with pin striping and the driver was super nice!

Thanks guy!

We ALL squeezed in the cab of the tow truck and went to where the RV was gonna get repaired, hopefully. Once we were there we hung out and watched some TV inside the waiting room and raided the vending machines. That got old in like 10 minutes so then we skipped rocks on the pond outside. Then moved from the pond to the parking lot which really was just us chucking rocks in the parking lot.

And then........ someone told us that not far from there was a place that had pretty good food and some arcade games! So we all walked down the side of the highway a short ways and there it was! And it was pretty AWESOME!!

So many games but had the most fun making up our own ahaha! We had pretzel eating contests and arm wrestling contests...

and NO this is NOT a picture of my mom beating me at arm wrestling. I swear I didn't hear Mikaiah say go or whatever! ahaha

So then that was pretty fun and the waitress there was so nice to us. Everybody always says I (Anaiah) take a long time to order and order too much. Whatever no I don't haters! And she took great care of us! The people in Minnesoata, and everywhere we went across the US was really kind. It made me want to travel more and meet everybody!!

That's a pretty cool Foxy Shazam shirt I got on! Yeah! That is a GREAT band!! We found out later that the RV was not going to be ready and so we had to pack up some things and take a cab in to town and stay at a hotel. It had a pool though so we all went swimming while my mom talked to Dave Klein (Agent Orange) and told him about what was happening. He was so cool and called almost every day while we were on tour to see how we were, and came to our show in Pomona too! We call him Davaiah ahaha--Mikaiah, Anaiah, and Davaiah! He produced on our recent single "Ladies and Gentlemen" the two songs "Northern Lights" and "Vanity" Here is our new video for NORTHERN LIGHTS if you haven't seen it yet and the one for Vanity will be out real soon! Hope you enjoy!!

"Northern Lights" video... here's another link to it in case you missed the first one!! [ LINK TO THE VIDEO ]

Me and Dave Klein being all serious in Pomona, CA! Say, nice merch! Thanks George at Advanced Promotional Products!

So we were stranded in Minnesota for 2 days and when we finally hit the road (it needed a new starter by the way if anyone was curious) we were hurting to see HOME!! LA!!!! Ahhhhh! We listened to a lot of great CDs that we had collected from all the bands on tour and talked about the amazing things that happened every single day. We also messed around with Garage Band and had a killer time making tunes a whole other different way than we do usually! Pretty cool. We stopped in Vegas for some food (that was our 3rd time rolling through Vegas on this trip!!) and another place called MARLINS that I don't even know where we were but after we ate we met some cool nomadic people that we gave our leftovers to and some t-shirts and talked about music with for a bit and then hit the road again!

When we finally pulled into LA it was an incredible feeling to see familiar things! Its so great to be on the road but so great to come home too!

Nah we are ready tour again ahaha! Lets go!
