these ceos are just now realizing that president covfefe is an asshole

June 2, 2017

Yesterday, much to the collective disappointment and disgust felt by the majority of the world and America, President Trump withdrew the United State’s commitment to the Paris Climate Agreement—a 190 country-strong agreement designed to curb greenhouse emissions and delay climate change.

The ‘Jobs, jobs, jobs’ President’s backward decision to pull out of the treaty immediately drew criticism and resistance from some of the most prominent CEOs and businesses in the country, including Tesla and Space X CEO Elon Musk and Disney’s. On Wednesday, ahead of the decision announcement, Musk issued a warning to Trump that he would “have no choice” but to quit his advisor role on Trump’s Strategic and Policy Council for business executives, a role that drew early criticism from supporters of Tesla’s energy and sustainability goals. Staying true to his word, directly following Trump’s announcement, Musk announced his departure from President Trump’s economic/business corner: “Am departing presidential councils. Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world,” the entrepreneur wrote on Twitter.

On the same day, Disney CEO Bob Iger also announced his resignation from the Strategic and Policy Forum, too. “As a matter of principle, I’ve resigned from the President’s Council over the #ParisAgreement withdrawal,” Iger said on Twitter.
