this white supremacist was not ready when he asked why there is no ‘christian isis’

April 4, 2017

There’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing a racist try it and subsequently get read for filth. That’s exactly what happened when a white supremacist harassed Washington, D.C. lawyer Qasim Rashid on Sunday in a DM exchange that went viral. Rashid is regularly attacked by Islamophobes on the internet, so when this one decided to get smart and ask the lawyer “Where’s the Christian version of ISIS and every other religion then?” Rashid had the time–and a whole entire world history lesson–to shut him down with the quickness:

Throughout history, there are many examples of white supremacist terrorists being given a humanity that Black and Brown people who commit similar violence do not receive. This is why when Dylann Roof murdered 9 Black churchgoers, police officers took him to Burger King, and the white supremacist who murdered a Black man in New York just because a few weeks ago barely received any attention. This whitewashing of violence is a major part of the way white supremacy is upheld, and so Rashid and everyone else exposing these narratives for the lives that they are deserve mad props.
