... the other Black experience

afropunk 2013

Have you ever been stopped by the police for no apparent reason? A recent video published by TheNation.com is going viral and it is a MUST watch. A Harlem teenager recorded as plainclothes NYPD cops stopped him, violently pushed him, called him a "fucking mutt" and threatened to break his arms. An NYPD veteran also gives insight about how he and his colleagues were pressured to stop more people.
Check out 'The Hunted and the Hated: An Inside Look at the NYPD's Stop-and-Frisk Policy' below.
Thinkprogress.org states that "New York officers conducted more stops of young black men in 2011 than there are young black men in the city." - L C-D

Great Article, Being born and raise in Brooklyn i can definitely testify to being stop over 100 times before the age of 21, when i got into corporate america and I was forced to where  dem monkey suit 7 days a week, I was never stopped by the police again, Racial profiling is in effect, but they are also deciding to stop people based on what clothes they have on, HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT.  A criminal wearing a suit can get away because he looks like he is coming from a board meeting but you can stop a 4.0GPA High School Quaterback because his pants are sagging and he has a hoody on?
