Turns Out Jimi Hendrix's Estate Still Doesn't Support The Biopic Starring Andre 3000

Everybody's getting all excited about the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic starring Andre 3000
we told you about a few days ago. Turns out Jimi Hendrix's estate released a new statement. Excerpt: "Experience Hendrix, LLC, the family-owned company entrusted with safeguarding the legacy of Jimi Hendrix and administrator of the Jimi Hendrix music and publishing catalog, has made it known many times in the past that no such film, were it to include original music or copyrights created by Jimi Hendrix, can be undertaken without its full participation".

So... yes, the biopic is still a go, but how the hell will they do without original music or copyrights created by Jimi Hendrix? We'll see...

The Hendrix library (catalogue) has been in litigations since Oct 1970. Only to be resolved several years ago.

With that being said, I think that the Hendrix estate has the last say on some cheesy Hollywood biopic bullshit. For instance the Otis Redding movie starring Cuba didn't get the green light either  (I think Cuba would have been Excellant!) but no word on it's production as of yet.

I'm with the Hendrix estate on this one. Just because some cat  "resembles" Jimi doesn't mean that he can PLAY the part. Not to mention that the script and story were probably shit. There are ACTORS who look the part, who can PLAY the part convincingly, and they aren't being given a shot at it. And a true Hendrix fan who also happens to be a (Writer/Director/Producer) should research it, write it, and then produce it.

I encourage the Hendrix estate to hold off until it's done RIGHT!  Fuck the rest!

If the numbers don't add up or they don't like the vision of the film, that's literally their business. There's plenty of killer concert/documentary flicks of Hendrix already in existence.

Man I'm freaking tired of his estate. there have been other actors trying to do this biopic and they didn't give the okay on his music being played in those films. Its been a longgggg time coming since Andre was named to do this movie. Now that they are saying yes do the movie they want to pull the plug on 3 Stacks...come on now this is his ROLE. Andre have to do it. This is some bullshit...A lot of people have been waiting for this. A lot of people loved Jimi and his fans would love this...

Experience Hendrix LLC needs to get on board, cause Andre 3000 will do it right!  (He's perfect, check out "Idlewild"). Black folk need to get out of each others way!

I'd say Andre 3000 is the best Actor for the role of Jimi Hendrix and probably will give a stellar performance.  Can't wait to see it.

It is a shame that they can't work together on this is some way/shape/form.
