"...Chicago based musician/producer FluiD describes himself as an ‘abstract sound-sculptor’. Sound sculpting is all about creating a mood and with ‘Envisioning Abstraction’, FluiD has created an air of unease, the kind of unease created by a ‘Danger: Keep Out’ sign on an abandoned building.
You know you’re probably better off turning back and heading home here, but, as is life, you ignore the cautionary sign and step into the dangerous unknown. You’re not sure whether you like what’s within but you’re intrigued enough to keep looking. This is the kind of mood that FluiD’s beats create. The soundscapes that litter these baron wastelands are haunting and eeire, reminiscent of Dalek, but with a whole load of extra elements thrown in.
Influenced by an eclectic list of innovators from the likes of the Detroit Techno masterminds, to the all consuming Sunn O))), these influences have obviously aided FluiD in creating these sonic nightmares and they wouldn’t be seen out of place in a film score. The industrial beats are consuming and constantly keep you on your toes. Huge in atmosphere and variety, ‘Envisioning Abstraction’ is the ideal partner to some seedy goings on. You know you shouldn’t be doing what you’re doing, but at the same time, it’s irresistible..."
