Following the release of her debut album No Fear Here in January, British/Jamaican/Nigerian soul singer and songwriter Bianca Rose unveils the powerful music video for her second single ‘Hidden’. The video revolves a man who struggles with explaining what he is going through, though it has become a weight on his relationship. As anyone struggling with mental health issues can attest to, this far too common story highlights just how difficult it is to share these particular struggles with those closest to us, and the video is a powerful testament.

“‘I am more than the sum of my mistakes.’ This is the message that was in my heart when I wrote ‘Hidden’,” Rose explains. “It’s an entreaty. A pleas of sorts, I’d say. The visuals depict an individual who is coming to terms with the fact that he is struggling with some mental health issues. Issues that have caused him to withdraw from those closest to him, and then the eventual resolve he finds to finally share what’s going on inside of him. The overarching idea is that sharing any kind of oppression we are dealing with can often be the first step to breaking its power.”
