video premiere: rock-n-soul vocalist brandy butler draws parallels between the human spirit and mother earth in new short

Sultry, powerful, and deep, Brandy Butler’s “Gentle Beating Heart” is the latest single from her debut album, “The Inventory of Goodbye.” An atmospheric visual shot as an abstract essay filmed in and a tribute to South Africa, the video is another gorgeous collaboration between Butler and director/illustrator Nicole Pfister, the eyes behind Butler’s short, “Spell”. In “Gentle Beating Heart,” the grainy soul of Butler’s vocals and the steady melodic crescendo as a perfect and unexpected balance of rough rock and rich, buttery soul.
