LOLLOLOL, good! There was also an Asian man too. Yea, im a fan of Kenneth Brenagh and it's seems that he loves to place black people in movie roles in where you would expect the character to be white, just watch any of his Shakespearean films and you would know what i mean. Finally, in the long history of white people portraying non white characters in movies, why not the other way around. Mr Brenagh seems to like having diversity in his movies, i think he like the controversy of it and the cast contrast-if that makes sense. Besides niggas populated this whole planet, you had black royal families and saints, as well as black gods that were worshiped in Europe. at least he seems to acknowledge it.

And another thing stop calling Tea Party people racist. Just because most of them happen to be white doesn't make them racist. Not once have I ever experienced any racism or bigotry from them. You all say your "open minded" and educated and freethinkers. Well do some research on it. I'm a member of the Tea Party movement where I live. The movement is about the left wing liberal government taking away our rights as Americans. They want to preserve something called The Constitution. Yes I was annoyed when they made Aang white. Because is Asian and NOT white character. It annoys me when they make these little innocent white characters that will some how "save world"  and they always make proud Asian nations as bad people.  And I'm not be as you say Super Afro fighter. I'm annoyed that this has been made a important issue when there are other things to worry about, other issues that need to be addressed. Yes I like seeing African Americans play interesting roles. And I have read this comic before. I enjoyed reading it. My thing is don't get all pissed off if you see people who don't feel the same way you do about something. Besides of course some whites won't be happy this. There Odinist (people who worship the Norse God Odin). This is a "white" pagan faith. There are Blacks who follow the Kemetic faith who wouldn't like whites playing Egyptian Gods. And come on there is no such thing as "white universe" America was founded by Europeans duh. Of course the most of your actors are going to be white that's fact. Hollywood was a White Jewish company that stared mostly white actors and actresses. The fact that we even made it there is a accomplishment. We have tons of Black actors and movies. We even have Black comic writers so what enjoy the comic and or movie. Stop being pissed off at whites that don't want us around. It's a fruitless endeavor. It's not racism.

In almost every every rendition of Aida-except for the Heather Headley one-Aida has been played by a white women. As laughnahga mentioned, you can stretch history so that Radames is plausibly white, but Aida is usually an Ethiopian or Nubian princess.

@lloyd lacy Um.... okay. Heritage and ancient faith ?? Forgive me if I'm being too literal but I tend to think mythological characters as' well' mythological. As in "not real". As in "whats the big deal if Heimdall is colored??" As in "I'm tired of white universe and would enjoy seeing black people in interesting roles" So, ah, were you this callous and annoyed when they made Aang white?? Maybe I wanna take a break from being SuperAfroFighter for the "issues" and see a black man in a comic book I grew up reading. I think I will.

ITS JUST A GODDAMN COMIC BOOK!!!! For the love of God, these guys have nothing better to be upset about? Who knew that a Black man starring in the Thor film would make these guys that uptight.  I guess they better not find out that i, a Black man, listen to Black Metal bands from Norway such as Mayhem and Red Harvest.  No one said ANYTHING when they had non Black actors playing Egyptians in old Hollywood films.  I'd tell those fuckers to get a grip...its about to be 2011.  God forbid their little white kids actually look to a Black man playing a hero!!!!

Stan Lee's "Thor" has been reincarnated into present day post-Katrina New Orleans. He must find his fellow god buddies and he discovers this man named Ezra guarding a bridge. He realizes that Ezra is Heimdall reincarnated. It is entirely appropriate for Idris Elba to portray this character. I can't wait to see this movie!

I guess its wrong for Whites to be proud of hertiage and anicent faith. But us no. Half of us don't even know who we are as Black people.
