willow and jaden smith are starting a rock band

Usually, when Jaden Smith tweets, I have no idea what is being said. It’s gotten to the point where even posts that seem straightforward scare me into thinking I’m losing it, because I’m so not used to making sense of them right away. This is part of the reason why when he tweeted that he, his sister Willow and his actress girlfriend Odessa Adlon were starting a rock band, I had to confirm across multiple sources before actually believing it.

Another reason is, of course, that Jaden has already proven himself a fairly dope rapper, and a rock band will be new territory for all three young stars (does Adlon even sing?). But if you know anything about the Smiths, you know that they don’t take limitations very well, and so it was only a matter of time before they broke into new genres.

As if more confirmation was needed (and, for me, it was–I couldn’t be sure starting every word with capital letters in the other tweet wasn’t a secret message about finding my inner eye or something), Jaden also posted a clip from a song the band is working on, featuring some acoustic guitar and indecipherable lyrics:

As enigmatic and out there as these two Smith children are (or maybe because of it), their talent is undeniable, and we really can’t wait to see what more they have in store with the project!
