WTF?! Confederate History Month?

Alright, let us get this straight. Virginia Governor (Republican Bob McDonnell) has issued a proclamation declaring April 'Confederate History Month', angering Virginia NAACP & Legislative Black Caucus, and other civil rights leaders. Granted, the official declaration only talks about 'understanding' and 'remembering' this part of US History (you know, the part where some White Southerners fought to secede from the Union and uphold slavery). But knowing that the declaration was requested by the sons of confederate veterans, we can't help but saying: WTF?! McDonnell says his intent is to honor the sacrifice on Virginia soil and promote tourism. Yeah... What do you all think?

White extremist groups that remain active, growing in number, and poses an actual threat now don't even respect them... It's offensive, but I don't think it's cause for the NAACP yet again drawing more attention to it, only abandoning later , when the fire burns out..

Comment by Rakiyah C on April 14, 2010 at 3:47pm: i've been celebrating confederate history month just by doing what the good gov. said, by educating. check out my facebook page to find out facts about the confederacy, such has the history of the first domestic terrorist organization, the KKK, or that, yes, the confederacy paid slave soldiers the same wage as the white soldiers, but the slave soldiers did not pocket that money, it was given to the slave owners as compensation for the confederate army "borrowing" the owners property. educate, people, use every opportunity to gain as much knowledge as you can.

Using his logic, The State with the highest German population in the country needs to have a Nazi History Month month then "honoring the blood spilled on German soil". This is supposed to be the White equivalent of Black History Month for him and there's no way you can spin it and make it look otherwise.

Politicians see how apathetic people are nowdays, they will do anything.

That's what I said when The POLICE unloaded the GUN on my homie outside the CLUB and then PULLED the GUN on us BLACKS in the CROWD. Approx. 300 of us OUTSIDE. We HAD to WATCH him BLEED to DEATH in the PARKING LOT. Called BACKUP then the HOSPITAL. Took almost an 35 to 45 for the AMBULANCE to come. Oh yeah its a mess.

I'm not D or R but the democrats had the momentum after the Obama election but the masses wasn't motivated to go out and vote! Well first of all if people stop looking to MAN to save they ass and stick together and unite the politicians wouldn't be able to do this. Then lord and behold the PEOPLE VOTE them in anyway.
