Hey people! Im doing videos!

The video(s) will be about the members of Afropunk. Ill make videos about the Ap ladies and queens, guys, queers, and the members representing Ap.

1. Email me at:
brownkitsune@ymail.com

2. Send 3 or 4 PICTURES of you striking a pose and being all badass.

3. When you email the pictures put your USER NAME in the
SUBJECT BOX.

4. In the MESSAGE BOX put what your GENDER is.
5. In the MESSAGE BOX put if you want to be in the LADIES/QUEENS VIDEO, GUY'S VIDEO, or / and LBGT VIDEO.

The deadline for the pictures is August 20. I most likely will not finish the video until the first week of September. If I have too many pictures to fit into the video I will make another one. So if you don't see your pic in the first vid itll be in the second. The video will be show cased on afropunk's web site sometime in September. The video should be on the front page as a feature.

*Even though the ladies and queens video will be first, guys can still send pictures to my email.

Hope these directions are clear lol and I also hope to hear from you soon! ^.^

I admire your taste.

That song and LaBelle's Lady Marmalade mocked in mass media the notion of a Black bad girl back before you were born. Those songs celebrated women who sold sex, and bad girls share sex with whomever they want, I'd guess or suggest; Black women as whore is the mass media Black Experience I avoid (and I respect Black female sexworkers). It's one of the reasons I don't watch television.

I'm a social conservative, so I don't know any feminist cant about what women can and cannot do with their bodies. I've respected some females (some who were sex workers) more than they respected themselves - and I'm glad I did.

My social conservatism contours my thought on the bad girl. She thinks for herself (consumer capitalism can't withstand that) and society, at least most adult females and males, insult this type of woman behind her back (I've heard the comments) because she does what she thinks and feels. And she feels and she thinks. In fact, the bad girl is a protestant. She protests bullshit. In the 21st century, she refuses to take a number or be a number.

Sarah Palin is more bad girl than Beyonce.  Norma Stitz, a fetish model, is more bad girl than Lady Gaga. In the 21st century, I guess some bad girls do politics and porn rather than singsongsexmoneyxploitation.

Donna Summer killed what a BAD GIRL might be in the general marketplace or culture with her song by that name. You should expose yourself to it, just for the edification of what I bet my life you are not. Jumping out of the prison of semantics (I'm inmate infinity), I don't know how a woman avoids the prison of stereotypes and expectations that line life in corporate consumer culture (and let's not even mention, though I must because I am one, a Christian-informed world).

Yep. What's call a bad girl is one degree of the 360 degree circle of consumer-breeder. Bad girls think, articulate and do.

Funny you should say that about studying philosophy in school. I assume you mean highschool and I agree with you. Maybe America is not ready for a class room of thinking kids huh?

   Spoken like a philosopher.

Here's a thought from Plato that I like: "The visible is the shadow of the invisible." As for beauty, Plato believed there was a perfect beauty that all other forms of it were only pale expressions of. He believed the "invisible world" was where the perfect and pure form of everything existed and we, in this world only received partial and imperfect versions of them..

The Pure Forms or Universals as he called them, all form a single perfect whole which is beauty, goodness and truth.

There's a great deal of food for thought in philosophy..

The funny thing about philosophy is that it doesn't give you the meaning of life but demonstraties just how off-the-wall mysterious life really is. I suspect supplying answers is not philosophy's real purpose but simply to ask the right questions.

It's common for people to think that philosophy has no relevance to the "real world" but only those who have no idea what philosophy is about think such nonsense. Even some one who says they have no use for philosophy is speaking philosophy.(and there are philosophers who agree with this thought too}, that's the beauty of such a study_ you find your own thoughts reflected in the thoughts of these great thinkers.

Another favorite thought, this one from Nietzsche :"Always speak the truth and be quick with bow and arrow." This is the same guy that made the statement that you've probably heard before_ what does not kill me makes me stronger. Nietzsche believed in this brave, new, modern world where meaning, sense and goodness were few and far between, that man needed to be a "Superman" and assume ultimate responsibility for the meaning of  his or her own life since the Church, State and one's next door neighbor don't have a clue.

Nietzsche went insane by the way. I suppose his enemies would think his philosophy had something to do with but that's debatable.

Start small. Let your interest guide you.

P.S. That song on your page, Slept So Long? I have the Queen of the Damned CD and that song is one of my favorites on it. (In other words: the shit rocks.)

   Holler at will.

You have deep thoughts for some one who never read any philosophy. I think maybe it is a good friend just waiting to meet you.

I see you're a full-time writer. I'm impressed. You're where I hope to be one day Goddess willing. I read one of your articles (Spikey Love) and you definately know what you're doing.

In this article you asked Love a question with a phrase in it that caught my attention. "Infatuated with beauty". Have you ever studied philosophy? You sound like Plato. Your choice of words implies that beauty is something more than any of it's expressions but, whatever it is,it seems to be something we can't live without.

As far as the two videos I posted, they helped me to understand what they and my whole experince with AP boils down to for me. Empowerment. It's nice to not only know in your heart but see and hear with your own eyes and ears that alternative-thinking black people do exist. I never believed I was alone but it's wonderful as hell to know the rest of you are out there.
