Até o presente momento, eu não conheço nenhuma instituição do tipo. até porque ser um "Afro-Punk" no Brasil (embora sejamos muitos) parte de uma concepção invidual. Principalmente, no meu caso.

Creio que o conheça. O nome não é estranho, mas não consigo visualizá-lo em minha mente. Mas com certeza nos veremos por ai. Até porque passei três anos fora da Bahia e muita coisa mudou. inclusive têm aparecido novas pessoas e muitos estão realmente sumidos. E eu tenho ultimamamente me concentrado em estudar, trabalhar e fazer música.

Normalmente não existe um lugar especifico. Tocamos tanto na região do Centro Historico no Rio Vermelho e nas Periferias daqui, bem como fora do Estado da Bahia (São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco...) que, por ironia, temos mais publico nesses estados do que aqui. A nossa batalha e encontrar o lugar ideal e fixar residência. Mas agora em outubro teremos o Darktronic Live que ira acontecer em todas as praças do Pelourinho durante os fins de semana :D. A banda em que toco atualmente chama-se ALMADORIA (Post Punk) e tambem estou montando aos poucos o MONOCHROMA, este mais voltado para o "stoner rock/jazz".

Bem, eu moro na Federação (pertinho da Barra). A cena punk de Salvador, de uma certa forma, a cena punk daqui é significativa. Tem negros? sim! Aqui como você deve ter percebido somos a maioria em quase tudo. Agora, sobre o conceito "Afro-Punk" até o momento, sou o único a usá-lo. Não que isto seja um rótulo (seria até ridículo me rotular em algo) mas encontrei o melhor caminho para dizer a sociedade "sou negão, curto e produzo rock. e dai?". Creio que pouquíssimos negros aqui entenderiam esse termo, por ignorarem que a nossa condição não está ligada apenas a nossa cidade, e sim ao mundo (temos em comum as mesmas dificuldades que vocês). Se eles imaginarem que existe essa comunidade global, e o principal: perceberem que não estamos sozinhos, creio que muitos pensarão duas vezes em ir pro hip-hop ou pro rastafarianismo :S.

Acho que acabei escrevendo uma carta. Mas as demais dúvidas, responderei logo.

I just read your article about "Good Hair". Brilliant! I refuse to go see that movie. Chris Rock? Come on now. Let us truthfully look at the political, social, and psychological implications of what hair means to African people in the States. Colonized minds like Chris Rock will never do this topic justice. Just think though, sista, if every Black woman decided to wear her hair naturally. hmmm.... Peace.

i'm doing maternal and child health. you're just about to be 21? happy birthday. i hope you have a blast. that's so exciting. i hear about karma and some other clubs on the radio but i don't know how they would be. the gay dance party one sounds cool. i think we should go to that one.

i just moved here a month ago. we should meet up and talk and i'll bring my zines for you. i don't know of any AP community here. i haven't really been out at all. i live in falcon heights, right next to the u of m st. paul. i'm getting a grad degree. we should go out kickin it and cause some trouble real soon. i need to dance and let loose. do you know of any places.
