Just heard the album. :-) I definitely hear some Courtney Love in the vocals, but I can't believe someone would think it was too lo-fi. To each one's own, I guess. I admit I was thrown off when Soundcheck called it indie pop, but as soon as I heard a bit of K Records in "Dig Deeper", I understood. :-)
