Yes I don't believe race dictates what people do. Now as for culture I do believe we have a different culture from Europeans and that we do have more in common with other groups, like Arabs, Persians, Chinese, Africans etc. I do believe somewhat in cultural separation from Europeans but we all should respect one another and it doesn't mean we can't hang out or whatever. I also think ones culture can dictate how a person is going to act or react to something. But I've also found this Isn't always true. I've been learning to keep a open mind for things.
You pretty hit all the issues I had both American History X and The Believer. Very emotionally powerful films. Just the the guy on the movie The Believer I got into it with some Neo Nazi Skinheads once. But one ended up seeing I was different from as he said "the other niggers" He ended up telling up me he admired Malcolm X and what the NOI (Nation of Islam) was doing. And that he wish Blacks would follow National Socialism. So I studied it and did a lot of soul searching. I read a lot to exercise my mind. Learned martial arts to exercise my body. Learned pseudo Nazi SS like racial theories. Tried to apply them to the Black man and prove that we "gods" and the original man. But I later found I was chasing a myth. Yes the Aryans were a real and pure race of people. But I feel it's more of a metaphor. It encourages us as a people to struggle and fight and be the best we can be. It also warns us of the danger of misguided love, hate and perfectionism. That we shouldn't "play God" and that we should be proud of ourselves but not to the point where we blindly hate others either. I also learned there was a much different side to National socialism that the Jewish media never shows. But as I learned more in life. Race doesn't always dictate character or what you will do with your life.
Very interesting video under your "About Me" heading. Almost lost me for a minute until the point became evident. The music industry really thinks black alternative isn't marketable? That's unreal and so sad. It would only take one producer taking a chance to prove this belief wrong. It's going to happen because music is universal. The mainstream audiences will hear it and recognize it as something they know. That's all it will take.
Afro Punk, as a movement is only just begun.
And you know what? I didn't come to your page to talk about this. Got distracted.
I am checking out the websites you suggested. Very interesting stuff. Are you a goth?
I've found a few pictures of black male goths too. I'll post them on my page as well and I suspect my interest in them is because I am looking for inspiration of some Dark and Lovely design. I wonder why I want to though, beyond thinking that the look would be cool. Maybe I think too much but I find my attraction to goth...curious. ( that's the right word) It's a strange subculture. I don't understand why it matters to me. I study it through reading and pictures trying to find out.
Sweet page hug. You have a lot of interesting things on here. I also see you like American History X and The Believer those two were some of my favorite movies. What did you like and dislike about them?
... the other Black experience
