Dang! I would so date you if I were a guy!!  Anywho mama just checking in and wanted to know how you were doing .  You are still and forever more my shero "keep on keeping on" I will never judge you.  wanted to get your feelings of a wall street journal article regarding folks graduating HBC's making less than folks graduating mainstream?  Anywho, why are folks so concerned about where we spend our black dollars?? but I digress, I hope you are partying this spring break. Platonic smooches Nit

I can identify with your experience so much.  Elementary school was mostly white so I didn't fit.  Middle school was mostly black and still didnt fit.  Most of my titles and labels sound like "The only black_______"  Not to mention I'm Antiguan which futher separates me from the pack.  I think your message is one that alot of people need to hear.

Bravo! Not only did this video personally movitate me to stand up and be proud of the person I've become again. But it's also a reminder that I'm not alone in this huge lonely cyber world of labels and politically correct bs. The 2011 Afro-Punk Festival, I'm there...No Matter what! This was a great video from beginning to end. Somehow in the back of my mind though, I'm still haunted by the funny thought of "This B* ate my cake".lol

Thank you for opening up and sharing...ironically enough the caption of the couple that was shown at the beginning of the piece was me and my girlfriend Amber. We share a common love/frustration of not being accepted by the world/black america/white america/etc. Im 30 years old now and it has taken me up to this point to fully accept and love myself. From a young age i was criticized for not being Black enough just because i wore glasses and spoke clear english at the hands of my other black peers at my former catholic school. I think that those years push me to be who i am now. I turned my back on convention, rules, scenes etc and it feels great. I embrace the aggressive hip hop of artists such as Necro, the Geto Boys, Three 6 Mafia, NWA, etc. AND i embrace the violent metal of Pantera, Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, Hatebreed, Mayhem, Cryptopsy, etc. And i do this while loving a Black woman.....so its all come full circle...self hate to self discovery to self acceptance=the biggest middle finger to close minded Blacks and Whites.
Hail Satan
Praise the Lord
