This insightful documentary features Kenyan AP member Djae Aroni and his punk band Crystal Axis. Djae shares his experience of being punk in Nairobi.
"[For this] 17 year old Kenyan, being the guitarist of one of Kenya's only punk bands, everyday is another struggle on the way to become accepted as an individual and artist. His parents wants him to study law and leave the band."

The way it seems to me from watching this video, they may continue to pursue music in some form in the future, but I don't believe the band itself will remain. I'm also uncertain if their philosophical outlook on life will persist beyond their university years.

Regardless, they need to get away from Kenya if they're to be successful as a band. That religious, conservative environment is depressing. Looking at the dispassionate crowd made me nauseous, and the applause at the end was gut-wrenching.

If they ever perform here in the US, I'd be more than happy to share a keg and women of questionable character with them after a show.

There's so much of what's felt growing up in a band; particularly one that isn't mainstream. It's about the clash of dreams & reality & trying to merge them; make that dream a reality! This was such a great flashback!!

Shit, kill your own chicken should give you the right to say whatever you want. I think they sound good though, just probably not the right audience for their music.
