ecohybridity a visual [black] opera in 5 movements

July 2, 2015

Check out this teaser for upcoming visual opera, ‘Ecohybridity: Love Song For Nola’ – a collaborative production with New Orleans-based artists and organizers about a group of nomadic “Songbirds” as they journey to reclaim their home.

The production, directed by Gallery of the Streets founder and artistic director Kai Burrows, marks the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina; and through performance, visual art, and site-specific installations, looks at issues connected to disaster capitalism, spatial inequities, the prison industrial complex, and privatization from a Black feminist lens. You can support the project here via Indiegogo.
