Check out artist Tyler Hicks (former AFRO OF THE DAY) and The Transit Art Currency Project, an initiative which spotlights “emerging artists passionate about social issues, while they document a moment in history through their craft.”

Hicks is currently crowdunding for the project – in which she’ll repurpose a classic Los Angeles bus transfer template into an art piece featuring a politically charged painting – and tells us that she hopes to use the piece to “document the current social issue plaguing our communities”.
